Media Systems Strategist

Aleksandra Krstic is a media strategist, educator and producer leading Newsmax Balkans’ regional growth. As CEO, she blends strategic vision with creative instinct, while also mentoring students in graphic technology and exploring innovation across media, design and emerging storytelling formats.

My extensive experience in the media industry, particularly in senior executive roles, has shaped my strategic leadership style and my ability to develop both programming and business initiatives that drive continuous growth, expansion and brand strengthening in the market. I draw this from my experience with Newsmax Balkans television, which has achieved stable platform development, increased viewership and overall expansion.

Working across different segments of the media industry has enabled me to effectively see the bigger picture and understand how individual decisions impact the system as a whole. The expansion of the Newsmax brand across Europe is a natural progression that I strongly believe in.

Strategic growth and organizational culture also develop in parallel. It may sound simple, but with the right team of professionals, nothing is impossible. Open communication, trust and investing in people are key to maintaining a stable and strong organizational culture.

Media Growth and Industry Shifts

The more platforms a media organization operates on, and the stronger its presence across them, the greater its content distribution.

Rapid technological changes, audience fragmentation and the need to preserve credibility in an era overwhelmed by information, in particular unverified and false content, represent the greatest challenges today. Media organizations must be fast, accurate and relevant at the same time.

As our slogan says, “Real news for real people,” this reflects exactly what we aim to deliver to our audience. The future of media is being shaped by digital transformation, the rise of ondemand platforms, and the increasing role of data analytics in content creation.

In addition to this, the importance of a multimedia approach and the integration of various communication channels continue to grow. The more platforms a media organization operates on, and the stronger its presence across them, the greater its content distribution.

Advice for Future Executives

As I also teach at the Academy of Applied Studies and Polytechnic in Serbia, the advice I give to my students and colleagues aspiring to build careers in the media industry is this, be adaptable and committed to continuous learning.

It is important to understand both the creative and analytical aspects of the business, while simultaneously developing strong strategic thinking skills.
