This AI-powered tool adjusts the RF output power in relation to broadcast content, without impacting audio quality or coverage. The energy savings can reach up to an impressive 40 percent. Already deployed in several countries, Germany stands out as the first to install SmartFM on nearly 1,000 transmitters ranging from 100 watts to 10,000 watts. The technology is deployed through the country’s biggest network operator, UPLINK Network GmbH, serving private and national radios. The result is a subsequent optimization of energy consumption, significantly reducing energy costs and CO2 footprint.

Another big yet new topic in the radio market is the transition to virtualization. For example, traditionally, the signal traveled from the studio to the tower via hardware encoders and decoders at the studio and the tower site. Riding the virtualization wave, WorldCast Systems assists broadcasters in replacing their traditional equipment with virtual counterparts to improve flexibility, accelerate scalability, and reduce upfront and operational costs.
